Birch Lea Strategies positions clients to dominate the political space with effective traditional and digital communications, paid and organic marketing, political strategies, and fundraising services.
Birch Lea Strategies
With a combined 15 years of communications experience, Roger and Brigit Berkeley started Birch Lea Strategies in late 2023 to make conservative organizations competitive in their markets. They met through the 2018 Love Both Campaign, fighting to save Ireland’s 8th Amendment from the international pro-abortion lobby. Roger was the National Campus Director for the campaign, working with student groups up and down the country; Brigit was the Chair of the banned pro-life group in Trinity College Dublin.
Roger Berkeley
Roger Berkeley is a political strategist specializing in paid media and campaign development. He has been active in politics since early in his career. His college political career was colorful. He founded Students For Fair Representation, a campus activist group campaigning for free speech and free association on campuses. This directly challenged the stranglehold of liberal Students’ Unions on Irish universities. After a successful media storm arising from the first campaign in University College Dublin (UCD), he raised funds to expand the project into every university in Ireland. Roger was the Campaign Manager behind the successful Presidential candidate in the UCD Students’ Union election in 2017.
Roger got his start in national politics working with Senator Rónán Mullen in the early days of his successful 2020 re-election campaign. Roger also worked as a speechwriter for multiple conservative politicians, including Michael Healy-Rae, Danny Healy-Rae, Peter Fitzpatrick, and Mattie McGrath.
After triple-jobbing as National Campus Director, Regional Canvass Co-ordinator, and a Media Spokesperson for Love Both, Roger moved into marketing consulting. He worked at Accenture with a focus on digital advertising. In this role, he consulted with hundreds of small businesses across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the US on behalf of Meta and Pinterest.
Brigit Berkeley
Brigit Berkeley has expansive communications experience straddling the Atlantic Ocean. Her clients have appeared in mainstream media in FOX, CNN, CNBC, Daily Wire, Forbes, Fortune, FastCompany, Business Insider, U.S. News and World Report, Nasdaq, The Boston Globe, the Babylon Bee Podcast, and more. She creates and runs media campaigns to elevate spokespeople profiles, spotlight announcements, build brand awareness, and manage crises. She is a proven specialist in media training and op-ed production services.
During her college political career, Brigit led multiple skirmishes with the Trinity College Students’ Union. She fought against the censorship of pro-life voices on campus during and in the aftermath of the 2018 Abortion Referendum campaign. She also spearheaded a multi-faith coalition to oppose a campus-wide ban on prayer for faith-based societies in Trinity. When she wasn’t engaged in politics, she wrote for and edited Trinity News, Ireland’s oldest and most successful student newspaper.
Brigit spent the pandemic with the US State Department, working with the US Mission to International Organizations in Vienna, Austria. She worked on various policy areas including nuclear safety and transnational organized crime. She developed the social media footprints of multiple startup organizations in Ireland and the US before moving into agency work in 2022. Brigit spanned industry sectors during her agency career, starting in emerging tech and blockchain projects just as the cryptocurrency market crashed in 2022. Brigit is an expert in media training, crisis communications, and strategic communications planning.
